Landing in Kimmirut

I decided to take a video of the landing, rather than photos. The big red building with the blue stripe is the school where I'll be teaching. By the way, that's pretty much the whole town. Though it's bigger on the ground.

Flight to Kimmirut

My flight to Kimmirut was quite enjoyable. There was a bit of wind and turbulence and the plane dropped and rocked like a roller coaster at times. But the views, my god the views.

Comparison

Pictured: the plane I flew from Ottawa to Iqaluit on and the plane I flew from Iqaluit to Kimmirut on. See if you can spot the difference.

Weathered In

Yesterday my flight to Kimmirut was scheduled for 9:15. When I arrived, at 8:15, they told me it was delayed until 11:30 due to weather. At 10:30 it was delayed until 12:30. At 12:00 it was delayed until 3:30. At 3:10 it was cancelled. The pictures show why.

It was all good though, they had coffee and I had some interesting conversations. And, today I made it.

Second Leg

I said farewell to Trevor and Scott today, and now my solo journey really begins. I am truly excited. Also, while waiting for the taxi I quickly snapped these pictures. Every view here could be a postcard...

Coffee and a View

This morning I walked into the kitchen/living room area of the B&B and I could see clear across Frobisher Bay. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
